that rocket wont hold candle to that v-max
Awsome!
Is the Rocket a bigger, more comfortable bike? Have you ridden a 1000 CC rocket like a Suzuki GSX-R1000? If you have, how do they compare? I'm debating getting a bike again, but I can't ride a crotch rocket like my old Gixxer anymore due to a wrist surgery. I had a Victory Magnum, and while it's by far the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden (and I've ridden a LOT), it was just way too damn slow for me. I've never ridden a Rocket, and I think my buddy had a VMax that I rode ~30 years ago, but it's been so long I don't recall what it was like and I wouldn't be getting one that old anyway! lol
The Rocket 3 is definitely comfortable. Mine is the Gt but I have the mid foot controls. I hate the forward foot controls. The 2nd Gen Vmax is not as comfortable as the Rocket 3, but both are far more comfortable than a 1000 cc sportbike. As far as power goes, the Vmax and the Rocket will out run most sportbikes up to about 140 mph, from my experience. And they will dominate any Harley, even built Harley's. My friends have spent thousands on their Harley's engines only to be destroyed by the Vmax and Rocket 3. The sportbikes will pull past at 140 plus as they have much higher top speeds. I have a video roll racing a Yamaha R1 m on my Vmax and completely dominating the R1 up to 160. Get a Triumph Rocket 3 and have it tuned. You will have a smile on your face every time you ride.
@@6343bryan thanks for the response. This is exactly the type of info I came looking for! When I bought my Gixxer brand new in '04, it was the faster quarter mile production bike in the world, and I topped it out at 186 mph more than once lol. So going from that to a Victory Magnum was a rude awakening. I'd like something in between, and I think the Rocket 3 might be the ticket. Thanks again!
@@6343bryan do you have a link to the video of the R1 race?
@Jayme969 go to my youtube page and look at my Shorts videos. You will see it

have the rocket 3, want the Vmax too
Yea. Both bikes are incredible. The Vmax in this Video is Currently for sale. It's on Facebook Marketplace Waxahachie Tx.
Awesome Jeep !!
Thanks! 👍
So what’s the reason? The Power Wagon comes stock with solid steel bumpers.
Well the front bumper is really strong but the rear bumper is very thin steel. I caught a rock on my stock bumper and peeled mine backwards about a foot. I now have a high clearance Chassis unlimited bumper. It's really strong and protects all the way around to the rear tires. Also gives you about a foot of extra ground clearance.
Power Wagon for the win!! They really are the best off road truck!!
Yes they are. They are basically a very heavy duty Rubicon. I went everywhere these Rubicon Gladiators went at Merus adventure .
Just two bros about to winch each other
I have a 2018 VMax and have been doing a lot of reading on the VMax versus the R3. VERY few videos on which is faster, but I am seeing the VMax still beats it. I also had my ECU flash, so my bike puts out about 20 hp more...
The Vmax is a incredible bike, and when tuned are scary. I own the R3 in this video and my son owns the Vmax. Comparing both Tuned bikes. The have very similar acceleration. Alot depends on who gets the jump. Roll racing, the R3 gets the jump on the Vmax, but the Vmax catches up quickly. Top speed, the R3 wins by about 10 mph top speed. The 6th gear on the R3 gives it the edge. Both bikes are Monsters. I'm really hoping a 3rd Gen Vmax is in the works. I owned several Vmax's and Love them.
@@6343bryan Dude, thanks for the reply! VERY few people have info on both bikes and a R3 salesman kept telling me how superior the R3 is to the VMax (yawn). At the end of the day, I truly believe it comes down to the rider. As I said, I had my ECU flashed and all the restrictions were removed. The bike will put out about 20 more HP and torque, but Id love to see it raced against an R3. Both are AWESOME bikes!!!
@glickmpb yea, when i bought the R3, the salesman said the R3 would destroy a Vmax. I found out later that day he was lying when i Raced my son on his Vmax. Haha. Thats what made me get my R3 tuned at Texas Superbikes which then gave me the edge over the stock Vmax. Unfortunately my son then got his Vmax tuned at the same location. The R3 acceleration is less violent than the Vmax. Its Smooth and consistent. The Vmax is just a scary Beast. Both bikes leave you smiling and when you return home from a ride your arms and shoulders are sore from hanging on.
@@6343bryan There are things I like about my VMax and things I don’t. I’m one of these guys that has never found a perfect bike. There are always things I don’t like. Don’t get me wrong, I love my VMax and will never get rid of it but 80 miles per tank?? The scoops are pretty fuggly too, but the power is what makes everything ok 😀 I also hate the fact that the rear tire is too small! It should have been a 220, but it is what it is. The R3 looks badass from the mid back, but the front wheel makes it look like a bobber. The dual headlight is iconic but I never cared for it. I sat in one and found it wide between my legs. I had a 2006 Hayabusa I bought new years ago and I think my VMax is faster. I have done a bunch of little things to it that I really love… Hardwired radar detector, LEDs, Denali Soundbomb horn, Corbin seat, Vantrue F1 cameras. It’s awesome!! 😀
Cameraman went to sleep at 1:22. Dang it!!
Me? I'd still take The Rocket any day. In real world performance stakes it's right up there - a total stomper - plus it handles better, and has a presence and looks that could stop time itself. The business.
Torque?
197
Take it down dummy 😅😅😅

What windshield is that? Thanks.
Front Along With Rear Lockers Are Just GREAT😎👍
Yes they are. I would have never made it over the rock lip without them.
Which windshield do you have on your Vmax? Thanks in advance
Once your moving dont stop, keep a momentum and dont be so jerky on the gas pedal.. Awesome truck,I have one! What exhaust/muffler do you have?
It's got a Borla exhaust with Resonator delete. 37" Nitto trail Graplers, with 2.5 leveling kit on front. Kmc wheels
Also when he hit the obstacle at angle. Try to follow through at the angle so the rear tires can clamber up 1 at a time as well
Brilliant camera work!
I know
LOL
I have a 2018 VMax I bought new, so I can be objective. The Pros are obvious. The Cons? 80-90 miles per tank of gas?! The rear tire should have been a 220 (240 is too big IMO), which would have been perfect. Those are literally all the cons of the bike. I sat on a R3 and thought it was too wide in the inseam. You feel like your legs are being pushed apart. Some online videos between these two bikes say the VMax takes it at high speeds. Sure, the R3 has more torque, but what matters is how fast you can get up to speed and there is more to it that torque.
agree with you about the back tire. I have a 240 with aftermarket 8" rim. I just replaced both tires this weekend...that rear is a PITA to remove.
@@chuckgarand8456 I just put a Vantrue F1 Dash cam on mine. Absolutely AWESOME!!!
I have a 2018 VMax and ABSOLUTELY love it! I had a 2013 M109R that isn't remotely in the same class. Once the M109R gets to about 100 mph, it doesnt feel like it want so to be there. The VMax? Please... I also had a 2006 Hayabusa Limited that I absolutely loved but got rid of it due to a bad back. I still have my Vmax (replaced the horn, seat, added LED's and did some electrical work to make it all work nice) and thats it. I also have a 2019 Fat Boy 114 I bought used that I like very much. When I go out with my wife its the Fat Boy. When I go for fun, the Vmax. I sat on a Rocket 3 and it felt WAYYYY to wide between the knees. Im average height and weight, too. If I had to choose between the Ducati or The Triumph, it would be the Ducati all day long.

Jamais essayé la V-max qui est une moto de rêve.Mais la Rocket 3 allonge tellement les bras, avec tout ce couple qu’elle à...
Wait until you get to a corner or an uphill road, the vmax wont keep up. Not even close. Plus I can ride all day comfortably with the Rocket with luggage. All around the Rocket is far superior.

Tough to do
I remember taking cover cause this tornado
Vmax for the win as usual, I do like the Triumph too.
Yes the tuned Vmax is a straight up MONSTER. The Rocket 3 is extremely fast but the Vmax pulls ahead slightly. The tuned Triumph in the video does however beat the Vmax on top speed runs. Having a 6th gear makes the difference.
@@6343bryanwhats the power and torque figure for both than ?
@@mociczyczki the Vmax was tuned on the Dyno by Texas Superbikes. The Vmax made 175 hp at the wheel and 165 torque. The Rocket 3 was also dyno tuned by Texas Superbikes. It made 165 hp at the wheel and 163 torque.
@@6343bryan torq for rocket is ok power after tune too but vmax stock make 170-175 hp on whell and torque 163 is to high for N/A 1679 cc especially at the whell without charge its imposibble 🫣 🤷🏻♂️stock have 123 lbf ft at crank 👌🏻 at whell like 100-110 lbf ft at specified velocity 163 lbf ft at the wahell for n/a vmax 1679 cc is imposibble 👌🏻
@To co lubie I may be wrong on the Vmax torque. It's my son's bike. I know it made 175 wheel hp. I'll double check on the torque and let you know
I love my 2018 Vmax
Was it modified in someway to be able to pull the front end up? I have a stock rocket GT I can’t get it up a foot off the ground before it shuts down. Is it something to do with the traction control?
Yes. You have to turn off traction control completely. Also traction is a factor. The road in the video is concrete that has alot of grip. The bike was stock in the video. Last week I had it tuned at Texas Superbikes. It turned my Rocket from a fast bike to a absolute Monster. Cost $1000 but it was worth every penny. I now have 100% throttle in all gears and there's no top speed limiter now. Check out my Dyno video.
Have you tried top speed yet after the remap. I would like to delimit mine too. Mine has got the Tuneecu map.
@JimJuno I've been 156 mph in 5th gear but ran out of road before I could get into 6th gear. I went to Texas Superbikes in Dallas tx. He did a great job. I have 100 percent throttle in all gears and top speed limiter was removed. The bike is much faster than stock. All I do is smile every time I ride it. My arms are actually sore after riding now from holding on. Seriously...
@@6343bryan Nothing really compares to a Rocket with a remap does it. When someone says you'll get used to it eventually ... Two years after the remap... 🤯🥳
@@6343bryanHere a question... did you clutch it up or used the suspension? Did you deflate the tires to have it come up? Because mine really wants to spin rather then lift the front. I read your comment mentioning the pavement and I pay attention to this (with a rocket you really need to sometimes coming out of a corner)
Power wheelie! Nice
Thanks. I gotta get a new cameraman
I’m still in a frozen climate for a month ‘till I get mine back on the road, so thank you for looking even more forward to another anticipated spring! Btw, what exhaust are you running?
